Lake Powell Fever

SOLID trip... That is all I've got to say. Seriously, I have the most amazing friends. And thanks to my dad and Austin for putting up with us! We left on Thursday morning and camped in Bullfrog. Who knew that my friends were so good with roughin' it? I thought I was a really good camper... But apparently they can show me up. They had the tent up faster than I could even think!

We were so hot and tired the whole weekend but we laughed and partied and perfected our boating skills. I would like to mention how cruel my father is when driving a boat when a tube full of girls is in tow. I am not lying here, people. He managed to almost make Vicky cry, made Eliza fly higher than anything I've ever seen, forced me to pee my pants a little, and gave all of us multiple bruises, road rashes, and cuts. Literally, we fit all six of us (including Austin) on the tube. I have never laughed harder in my life!!!!!! Funniest thing I have ever experienced. You know, it is that kind of laugh that makes you wonder when your next breathe is going to be... Ya, that silent laugh that makes your stomach hurt. Also the kind of laugh that takes away any strength that you have, which is inconvenient because we were to be holding on for OUR LIVES on this bright orange, flying, zipping rubber object.
Hey, that's all part of the fun... right?

It couldn't have been a better send off party for me!
best friends + lake powell = pure bliss

Mr. & Mrs.

June 15, 2013 was such an exciting day for our family! Not only was it our family's first wedding, but I got another sister! My older brother, Dallin, met his cute wife in October of 2011. He asked her out after a friend gave him her number, and they went RUNNING as their first date. Let me just stop this story right here and inform you that I would have turned down a first date if the asker would have mentioned running. HECK NO! First of all, I would play out the whole scene my head beforehand and it looks something like a scene from 'The Strangers', since they went at midnight, full moon, and up the canyon. Secondly, I do not know how you are supposed to get to know someone when you are huffing and puffing up a mountain. I look terrible when I'm running, not to mention the amount of sweat that I produce. But SOME HOW they still liked each other afterward. It took them 20 months too long to FINALLY get married.

Seriously though, I could not be happier about who he chose. **caution cheesy material** Carlyn is the most selfless and giving person I have ever met! She is so spiritual, hilarious and on top of all of that she is stunning.

On Friday, June 14 they had a very small wedding dinner at Market Street Grill in Cottonwood Heights. The food was the best wedding food I've ever had... No bias opinion, either. Guests had the choice of either halibut or steak. I chose the fish of course! The program consisted of three siblings on each side giving a little roast/toast to either the bride or groom. Since Lacee wasn't there and her speech was emailed, and Austin needed a little help, I went up to the mic THREE times. **thats favorite child points right there.** Instead of boring you with my speech, how about some pictures?

Saturday was such a great day, but one of the LONGEST in my life. The ceremony wasn't until 2:30 so we had a leisure morning and early afternoon. There was no coincidence that Dallin and Carlyn went running the morning of their ceremony. But come on, seriously?? Ironically though, me and my mother were late. Oops. We had decided last minute to decorate Dallin's car, since they weren't doing a reception. Just picture me and my mother in the 105 degree parking garage in our nice sunday best trying to climb on top of Dallin's FILTHY jeep to write on it. My G's were hanging out left and right as people drove past in the parking garage, I had paint all over my hands, and my mascara was running. By the time we were actually in the temple, our hair was flat, our makeup was off and we had sweat in places that you just don't want it.

All jokes aside though, I felt SO lucky that I was able to actually go inside the temple and see them get married. It was perfect.

After the temple, the perfection really came to a screeching halt. Me of all people LOVE photographs. But, I think adding hunger and heat exhaustion to 1,000 pictures really got to me. I felt like a rabid squirrel! One thing you gotta know about me is that I when I get hungry and don't get food... Well, I turn into the hulk, literally. It wasn't a pretty picture. (No pun intended. Lolz) Okay I really am kidding about the perfection part because I couldn't have asked for a better day for them. So glad that it went so well for them, and I could not be happier!

In the words of Austin Frampton, HAPPY MARRIAGE!

Temple Day

Yesterday was such an exciting day in my life! I was able to go through the temple for the first time with my sister-in-law (as of June 15). It was a long day of spiritually goodness, but definitely a memorable one. I was surrounded by people that I loved, and felt so blessed. This day, in the scheme of things, changed my life forever; for good, of course. I feel so lucky to have a family that lives and loves the Gospel. My testimony has been strengthened so much since I received my mission call. Yesterday was just a small step towards becoming a missionary and serving the people of Norway.

Looking forward, I cannot wait to see my older brother Dallin get sealed to his beautiful fiance, Carlyn. It seems life forever since they decided they were going to get married, but it is finally here! Saturday they will officially become Mr. and Mrs. Frampton. I could not be more excited for these two to start their lives together, and to also get another sister! It is the beginning of something great!

A goal accomplished

On January 12, 2013, Crossfit Spearhead's doors were open. After years of dreaming to open his own gym, my older brother Dallin finally did just that. I have loved learning what Crossfit is all about, and then putting that into action. I hardly see progression in myself when I try new workouts, but this time its different.

Dallin had all of his gym members make individual goals to accomplish by the date you assign. After thinking about my goal for quite sometime, I finally decided with this: "Prescribe a workout by June 15, 2013." Well "prescribing" might be confusing to some people, so let me explain. Dallin will set a weight/form for all men and women per workout. For example, if the workout for the day is 20 dead lifts, he might set the weight as 100 pounds for women, and 150 pounds for men. Another example is if the workout involved pull-ups, one would have to do however many regular pull-ups with no modification. Starting as a beginner, I could never actually do a workout how Dallin prescribed it, so that is where my goal derived from. On June 4, 2013 I decided to try and accomplish my goal.

The workout for that day was 3 rounds of: 400 meter run, 21 kettle bell swings @35 pounds for women, and 12 pull-ups.

When starting the workout, I knew that the run would be when I "rested", the kettle bell swings would be when I caught up to people, and the pull-ups would be the hardest and slowest move of the three. And that's just how it was. I was out of breathe, my hands were bleeding, and my muscles were exhausted. With the encouragement of my brother and my fellow gym members, I accomplished my goal and finished with the longest time of the day. Yes, I actually did 36 pull-ups! No, I have no idea how. I was proud of myself and extremely overjoyed to look back and see my personal progression.

Having said all of that, I need a new goal! I have listed my top five goals in a survey at the bottom of my blog, so tell me what you think. Oh and before I forget, the deadline I have assigned for my new goal is August 21... The day I leave for my mission.

S is for...

This weekend was full of s words. Those of you whose mind might be in the gutter, no I was not meaning the four-lettered swear word that starts with s. {don't worry, my mind went there too}

+Snow cones...
My little brother, Austin, finishes 7th grade this week, so we went and celebrated with a couple of our favorite treats. I got the lemon-lime and Austin got the tiger's blood, of course.

+Seinfeld, Jerry

Justin and I went and saw Jerry Seinfeld perform at Abravanal Hall and we laughed our faces off. I know that that picture is ridiculously blurry, but that IS JERRY SEINFELD! We had great seats, and he had great jokes so all in all it was a great time.

+Stubbed

Okay look away if you are queasy, but yes this is my toe. I was mindlessly skipping out to my mailbox in bare feet and managed to trip over my own toes. Well, this was the lovely result. It hurt, really bad.

+Showers

My older brother, Dallin, and his soon-to-be bride, Carlyn, had their last wedding shower before they get hitched in two weeks. Haha! I managed to capture this priceless picture just at the right time.

+Sister Missionaries

My cute cousin, Alisha, got her mission call to Little Rock, Arkansas! I am so excited for her!!!! She will join me in the MTC on September 25th, and I could not be happier. Okay, how cute is that painting on the bottom? My amazing friend, Amy, painted it for me!!!! Seriously? Do I not have the best and most talented friends? So, so happy.

+Sunsets

I love bike rides! Especially Sunday, sunset, summer rides! {{hint: that was a lot of s-es}} But really, a nice sunset bike ride was a perfect end to my S-filled weekend!

Oh the magic of Disney

spontaneity:: {spon-ta-ne-i-ty} noun. The quality or state of being spontaneous.

If this trip wasn't spontaneous... I don't know what is! Justin and I decided on Thursday to drive to California the next day. We have been wanting to try out my 50mpg car... And that we did. (yes, got there on ONE tank) I can't explain this trip without the pictures. So here ya go!

Round of applause, please. Justin drove my AUTOMATIC car for half of the drive down

hello, moon
We were lucky enough to stay with Justin's cousin and her family. I like to think of her as Aunt Cherie... Their house is only 15 minutes from Six Flags, and because roller coasters are my thing, I was STOKED! Little did I know that my little friend here wasn't so fond of them.

Our first ride was one called GOLIATH... Scary right? Okay, it really was quite frightening. There was a lady in line by herself that we started talking to. We asked why she was by herself and her answer was, "My husband is outside waiting for me because this ride makes him black out." ....oh. In the middle of the ride, I finally understood what she meant.
Feeling sick, we went on to the next ride, and the next. The third ride we rode was "The Green Lantern." I literally started crying afterwards. It is one of those rides that your feet dangle and you are strapped in with a shoulder secure. It just hurt. I don't have any other words to describe it. Poor Justin felt like he was going to throw up... and that he did. He sure left his mark in the bushes at six flags... yuck. Sorry, love!
This picture was taken just a few minutes after the barfing actually occurred.
Don't know how he looks so good.

The lighting in this ride really was green....
But this perfectly describes how he was feeling

Even though we called it an early day, It really was fun! (For me, at least)

Disney Sunday was a WHOLE NEW WORLD! (no pun intended ;P)

We were so excited we could barely stand it.

Do you notice that he got 100,000 more points than me?
ouch.

Yes, by 10am I had a churro in my hand...
Naturally.
I thought I was used to feeling like a little kid by dating Justin. No, I wasn't trying to be rude. We just like things that little kids like... But Disney day was different. We were so giddy and hyper allllll day! Thanks to Aunt Cherie, we got all the Disney secrets. We got there early and always had fast passes in our hands. I am NOT kidding when I tell you we did EVERY ride in Disney and California Adventure. It was nothing short of amazing.

We tried to time the peace signs just right... haha this is how it turned out.
**cheesy** But literally couldn't be happier with my best friend
We got so wet... All part of the fun, right?

These faces are real, not planned like the space mountain ones.
I think the little girl behind me is crying because of my scream...
Sorry, child.

Dorks...

I think I converted Justin to my love for California Adventure. Little did we know the day had just begun.

Tower of Terror... Classic.

Hold the phone, CARS WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!! The wait was never less than 120 minutes. Holy cow, that is two hours people. We decided with the single riders line, which was still 45 minutes. It was so fun! Yes, we went twice!

Luckily we got in the same car... Justin got shawty.

Poor little child was exhausted.
Came out of the bathroom to this.
Not framed... this is real.
Goodnight.

Let me explain to you why this picture is blurry. I was player 2, and WON by 30,000 points on Toy Story.
Justin was hurt and embarrassed by this, so he decided to nudge my camera while I was taking the picture
Sore loser
Yay for me!

We ate our way through the parks... Literally
We took pictures of every snack and meal that we consumed.
This ice cream was to die for.
I would drive down just for another cup.

Anddddddd yes, what would a trip to the park be without a
CORNDOG.
nom nom nom

At the end of the day we headed back to Disney for the classic Dumbo and Peter Pan...

hi.

This picture perfectly describes why we shouldn't stop MEN to take our pictures... LOL
blurry, off centered, didn't turn on the flash, cut off dumbo!

If the day wasn't already perfect, we topped it off with New Orleans beignets, fantasmic, and fireworks. I wish that I could have paused that moment and put it in a jar for later. I dreaded it ending. I guess I will have to settle with an amazing memory with my closest friend. Can't wait to do it again!
